Artist Alert: Jonathan Salas no longer Skillet guitarist

Ok, so I told all of you that Jonathan Salas had been chosen as the new guitarist for Skillet. However, as of April 9, he is no longer with the band. He has already quit touring with the band and Ben is filling in again as guitarist while training a new guitarist who is yet to be announced. Jonathan said on twitter that he "had fun, just didnt work out." One reason may be that he did not like touring in the Avalanche Tour with secular bands, which is currently still going on, but whatever the reason, Ben is now guitarist again until April 17 or until further notice!

Oh my gosh! What a surprise! But I actually think that brings a lot of credit to Jonathan's name... and, now more people know about his solo stuff! :D How crazy is that? Thanks for posting!

Love the picture, too! ;)

Oh, wow, thanks for the info! I had no idea Skillet was touring with worldly bands! I did notice that they seem to look a lot more worldly, at least in my opinion. In the last picture I saw of Skillet, Jonathan looked like the good boy of the group with the other three members looking a little more on the wild side... LOL Anyway, it's surprising to see him leave so soon!

@Jay yes. Now more people will look into his music.

@Renee yeah, their songs do seem more secular, but they still openly speak of their christianity in their albums and live.

That is surprising news from Skillet. Looking forward to seeing who will replace Ben when he does leave on April 17th.
